As an educator, I am constantly in shock of how many meetings we are“required” to attend.  Faculty meetings, data team meetings, PLCs, curriculum/team meetings, PTO meetings, parent/teacher conferences,  committee meetings, the list is endless. Whether good news or bad, the drowning of meetings takes place in nearly every profession, my husband (not in education) shares the same frustrations. The ironic part to this meeting madness is that most of the meetings are actually important! There are many reasons why participants in a meeting walk away feeling their time was wasted:

    • The information could have been presented in a more effective format:
    • Stakeholder dynamics: 

  • Lack of resources to support initiative or leaving a meeting with a goal to find out there are no resources to support the goal in the future:
  • Agenda items were left unresolved or no consensus was reached thus no forward movement toward progress.

These are just a few reasons many of us leave meetings feeling like we just got done beating our heads against the wall for an hour; however, I have some solutions to this Meeting Madness!  

Coming this July I will do my part to end the meeting madness by providing a 100% ONLINE, SELF-PACED, Administrator’s Academy focused on Meetings Tips, Tools, and Techniques that To Achieve Results!!! That’s right, I know how valuable your time is and I want to respect that so let’s change things up a bit and check this to-do item off your list in the comfort of your home or office!  This Academy isn’t just for administrators; if you run professional development opportunities, are a teacher-leader, aspiring admin, team leader, curriculum chair, instructional coach, or attend meetings, this course if for you!

This “On-Demand” academy teaches skills and strategies to design and plan effective meetings.  Participants will learn facilitation tools and techniques to actively engage ALL team members.   As a result of this online academy, you will learn to think differently about meetings and walk away with a toolbox on how to make your meetings matter!
