Does February 28, 2020 ring a bell???  It has been on my calendar since March 3, 2019.  It’s  Kane County-Wide Institute Day!! #ID2020

Every year all 9 Unit Districts in Kane County share a common teachers’ institute day.  A day where thousands of educators PreK-12 come together, across all content areas, for a day of professional learning and collaboration…Did you just get goosebumps?!?!  I did!! Kane County-Wide Institute Day is truly my favorite day of the year. Seeing the countless partnerships, presenters, districts, and ROE staff come together to pull off a productive, valuable day of learning so that our educators are energized and walk away with ideas and teaching strategies that will positively impact their students’ learning and their teaching practices is an amazing experience that I am honored to be a part of.

Planning for such an event takes time and big-picture organizing months in advance.  Luckily for you there has already been a lot of behind-the-scenes planning taking place and I am honored to share with you some of the important details for #ID2020:

  • First and most importantly, our Call for Presenters is now open!  We will close the Presenter Proposal on Sunday, December 1, 2019.  The reason County-Wide is such a success year after year is because of the amazing presenters that willingly share their time and talents with others as a presenter.  Please consider presenting at Institute Day this year and sharing your knowledge with others.
  • I am also super excited to announce our District Host Sites! We will continue to offer breakout sessions based on Social Emotional Learning at Batavia HS.  Central HS will also be returning as a host site for our elective courses and Geneva HS will have teacher presenters across all content areas (Non-Elective) PreK-12th grade.  West Aurora will be returning as a host site offering sessions from PLCs, Coaching, Assessment, Equity, Engagement and more!

  • In addition to our amazing District Host Sites we will continue to extend our partnerships with local businesses and sub-conferences such as the CTE Conference, FONA, Water Street Studios, Fine Line, etc..
  • Registration will open on January 13, 2020

We are continuing to add partnerships options for our educators so please be sure to subscribe to the ROE Newsletter, follow us on Twitter @KaneCountyROE  and Check our Website for important updates, reminders, deadlines, and information about registration.

Please let me know if you have any questions…I can’t wait for another great year!  #ID2020!
